Our teachers of faith compiled the Ten articles of (Karaite) faith on the basis of the Holy Scripture עשׂרה עקרי האמוּנה Asara ikrei haemunah, these ten articles contain the foundations of our faith. Each Karaite must know these articles of faith, and believe in them.

The first article of faith

Haikar harishon  העקּר הראשׁון 

I believe in full faith that the Creator, blessed be His Name, created the heavens and the earth and everything that is in them from nothing.

The second article of faith 

Haikar hasheni  העקּר השׁני

I believe with full faith that the Creator, be blessed His Name, has neither beginning nor end, He is the First and the Last, He was, is and will be.

אֲנִי מַאֲמִין בֶּאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁהַבּוֹרֵא יִתְבָּרַךְ שְׁמוֹ אֵין לוֹ רֵאשִׁית וְאַחֲרִית הוּא רִאשׁוֹן וְאַחֲרוֹן הָיָה הוֶֹה וְיִהיֶה׃

Ani maamin beemunah shelemah shehabore yitbarakh shemo eyn lo reshiit veakharit Hu rishon veakharon hayah hoveh veyihyeh.

The third article of faith

Haikar hashelishi  העקּר השׁלישׁי

I believe with full faith that the Supreme Creator has no form, that He is absolutely One and that there is no unity similar to him and that He has no body nor any physical qualities.

אֲנִי מַאֲמִין בֶּאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁהַבּוֹרֵא יִתְעַלֶּה אֵין כָּל דְּמוּת וְהוּא אֶחָד מִכָּל צַד וְאֵין אַחְדּוּת כְּאַחְדּוּתוֹ הוּא אֵינוֹ גוּף וְלֹא יַשִׂיגוּהוּ מַשִׂיגֵי הַגּוּף:

Ani maamin beemunah shelemah shehabore yitalleh eyn kol demut veHu ekhad mikol tzad veeyn akheddut keakheduto Hu eyno guf velo yasiguhu masigi haguf.

The fourth article of faith

Haikar harevii  העקּר הרביעי

I believe in full faith that the Supreme Creator called Moses, our teacher, peace to his soul, and that (Moses) is the greatest of all the prophets.

 אֲנִי מַאֲמִין בֶּאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁהַבּוֹרֵא יִתְעַלֶּה שָׁלַח אֶת משֶׁה רַבֵּנוּ עָלָיו הַשָׁלוֹם וְשֶׁהוּא אָב וָרֹאשׁ לְכָל הַנְּבִיאִים:

Ani maamin beemunah shelemah shehabore yitalleh shalakh et Mosheh rabenu alav hashalom veshehu av varosh lekhol hanneviim.

The fifth article of faith

Haikar hakhamishi  העקּרה חמישׁי

I believe with the full faith that the Supreme Creator gave us the Holy Torah through Moses, our teacher and that this Torah is the Torah we now have in our hands.

אֲנִי מַאֲמִין בֶּאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁהַבּוֹרֵא יִתְעַלֶּה נָתַן עַל יְדֵי משֶׁה רַבֵּנוּ ﬠָלָיו הַשָׁלוֹם אֶת תּוֹרָתוֹ הַתְּמִימָה הַנִּמְצֵאת עַתָּה בְּיָדֵינוּ:

Ani maamin beemunah shelemah shehabore yitalleh natan al yedey Mosheh rabenu alav hashalom et Torato hattemimah hannimtzet attah beyadeynu. 

The sixth article of faith

Haikar hashishi  העקּר השׁשׁי

I believe with full faith that each Son of Israel who believes in the Supreme God and His Torah, is obliged to know the language of the Torah and its interpretation.

אֲנִי מַאֲמִין בֶּאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁכּל בֶּן יִשְׂרָאֵל הַמַּאֲמִין בָּאֵל יִתְעַלֶּה וּבְתוֹרָתוֹ חַיָב לָדַעַת לְשׁוֹן הַתּוֹרָה וּפֵירוּשָׁהּ:

Ani maamin beemuna shelema shekol ben Yisrael hamaamin baEl yitale uveTorato khayav ladaat leshon haTora ufejrushah.

The seventh article of faith
 
Haikar hashevii  העקּ השׁביעיר

I believe with full faith that the Supreme God endowed the prophets who came after Moses, our teacher, peace be upon him, with prophetic inspiration and that he sent them to prophesy the future and to persuade the people of Israel.

 
The eighth article of faith
 
Haikar hashemini  העקּר השׁמיני
 
I believe with full faith that the Supreme God will resurrect the deceased (people) on the day of Judgement.

אֲנִי מַאֲמִין בֶּאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁהָאֵל יִתְעַלֶּה יְחַיֶה אֶת מֵתֵי אָדָם בְּיוֹם דִּינוֹ הַגָּדוֹל׃

Ani maamin beemunah shelemah shehael yitalleh yekhayeh et metei adam beyom dino haggadol.

 
The ninth article of faith
 
Haikar hateshii  העקּר התּשׁיעי
 
I believe with full faith that the Supreme God judges justly and rewards or punishes each (person) according to his/her merit.

אֲנִי מַאֲמִין בֶּאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁהָאֵל יִתְעַלֶּה עשֶׂה מִשׁפַט צֶדֶק לִבְנֵי אָדָם וְנוֹתֵן לְאִישׁ כִּדְרָכָיו וְכִפְרי מַעֲלָלָיו׃

Ani maamin beemunah shelemah shehael yitalleh oseh mishpat tzedek libnei adam venoten leish kidrakhav vekhifri maalalav.

 
The tenth article of faith

Haikar haasiri  העקּר העשׂירִי

I believe with full faith that the Supreme God does not ignore us - the people of captivity, but we are still experiencing his punishment. Each Son of Israel, who believe in the Supreme God and His Torah is obliged to ceaselessly and patiently wait for His salvation through His Messiah from the house of David, and for the renewal of His Temple.

אֲנִי מַאֲמִין בֶּאֱמוּנָה שְׁלֵמָה שֶׁהָאֵל יִתְעַלֶּה לֹא‏ מָאֵם אֹתָנוּ אַנְשֵׁי הַגָּלוּת אָמְנָם אַנַחְנוּ כָּעֵת תַּחַת יִסּוּרָיו וְכֹל בֶּן יִשְׂרָאֵל‎‎‎‎‎ הַמַּאֲמִין בָּאֵל יִתְעַלֶּה וּבְתוֹרָתוֹ חַיָב לְקַוּוֹת וּלְחַכּוֹת תָּמִיד לִישׁוּעָתוֹ עַל יְדֵי מְשִׁיחוֹ מִבֵּית דָּוִד וּלְבִנְיַן בֵּית מִקְדָּשׁוֹ׃‏

Ani maamin beemuna shelemah shehael yitalleh lo maem otanu anshei haggalut amenam anakhnu kaet takhat yissurav vekhol ben Yisrael hamaamin  baEl yitalleh uveTorato khayav lekauot ulekhakot tamid líshuato al yedei meshikho mibeit David ulevinyan Beit mikdasho.
 
Each Karaite must fully believe in the above mentioned ten articles of faith, that contain the basics of our religion and he/she must abide by these ten articles of faith. Only such faith can become true faith. One must abide only to truths that he/she is convinced of. According to our teachers of faith, each believer should know and believe in the ten articles of faith. He/she should not believe in these ten articles only as a part of the inherited tradition, but he/she should believe in the ten articles of faith only if he/she thinks that these ten articles are true.
